Einstein wrote his first Theory of relativity in 1905 while a patent clerk.
Most scientists at the time did not understand his theory so gave it no value.
The European mathematician who understood Einsten's paper was Max Planck.
Later in 1918 Max won the Nobel prize for physics.
It was 27 years later before Einstein got a job as a professor!

Patience is a virtue.

Long after Einstein's death, one of his theories was proven.
Atomic clocks were put on jet airplanes and sent around the
world in opposite directions. Einstein's theory said one clock would
gain time while the other would loose time. The experiment was done
and his theory proven true.
